The United Nations Association of Africa (UNAA): The United Nations Association of Africa (UNAA) is a continental, non-governmental organization committed to promoting the values, principles, and programs of the United Nations across Africa. We bring together individuals, youth, women, civil society, and institutions to advance peace, sustainable development, good governance, and human dignity. Through advocacy, partnerships, and capacity-building, UNAA works to strengthen Africa’s engagement in global affairs and support the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across the continent.

Vision Statement: To build a peaceful, united, and globally active Africa where UN values guide sustainable development, good governance, human dignity, and shared prosperity.

Mission Statement: To promote UN principles across Africa by advancing the SDGs, strengthening democratic institutions, empowering citizens, and enhancing Africa’s participation in global peace, security, and development efforts.

Our Aim: To promote the principles and values of the United Nations in Africa, while fostering global citizenship and actively supporting the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 2030).

Our Objective: To coordinate and strengthen cooperation among African countries in the collective pursuit, implementation, and monitoring of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), through joint initiatives, knowledge exchange, and regional partnerships.‎

‎To support the development and consolidation of democratic institutions across African nations by promoting good governance, transparency, accountability, the rule of law, and the protection of fundamental human rights.‎

To build and sustain an inclusive network of individuals and institutions, including youth, women, civil society, academic bodies, and professional organizations, committed to advancing the principles, programs, and values of the United Nations within the African region.

‎To promote and domesticate United Nations observances, global campaigns, and thematic programs across African countries, fostering public awareness, participation, and action toward peace, sustainable development, climate resilience, and social progress.

To foster increased engagement and meaningful participation of African states, youth, and civil society in United Nations peace-building, conflict prevention, humanitarian response, and global decision-making processes, ensuring strong African representation in international affairs.
